so my old laptops have windows 7 and windows 10 on it and it's slow and lags. it doesn't run like it used to and that's why i didn't use it anymore after some time and then my mom got me a win 11 laptop like a few years ago and im using that now as my main laptop atm. the thing that's pretty cool about one of my old laptops is that it's big and has a wide screen that's bigger than the screen i have on my main laptop and it has a built in cd slot to put cds in. i miss that so much i wish they kept that on modern laptops bc that would be cool. anyways i wondered what i could do and a while back ive been hearing about linux had no idea what it was at the time but now i know it's an operating system (os) just like windows and macnook is but it's a lot faster doesn't have bloatware like windows does and you can customize it to your liking which is really nice. there is ofc many linux distros that people use and bc im really a whole beginner at this i searched up many yt videos and used google to help me out a bit. i heard that linux mint was a good beginner linux distro for those who are used to windows it has that like similar windows feeling and i installed it on my main laptop first and tried it with kde plasma it was pretty cool and then i eventually switched to fedora as my main for rn i will stick to this one. as for um my old laptops the big wide screen laptop i put linux mint on it and for my mini laptop i put xfce mint i might have to change it tho bc due to some issues. but i got it all to work in the end if i knew this when i was younger mann i would've fixed up these old laptops long time ago. but im honestly enjoying linux and what it has to offer ik that not all games will work but most of the games i have it works so im rlly happy abt that. plus i rlly love the customization it's so freaking cool but yeah im really glad i switched to linux best decision ever.
