Re:Zero vs Mushoku Tensei debate and why it's not even close

I've seen quite a few people online arguing about wether Re:Zero or Mushoku Tensei is better, and oh my god it's almost idiotic comparing the trash of an anime that Mushoku Tensei is to something like Re:Zero. If we wanna start from character, we can take the two main protagonists: Subaru and Rudeus. Subaru starts off just like any other isekai'd anime mc, he's quiet arrogant, has aa huge saviour complex and a toxic sense of entitlement. The story, instead of rewarding these flaws or using them as comic relief (like in MT), it punishes them, forcing Subaru to strip away his ego and undergo self-examination to achieve genuine humilty, and that shows character growth, I think each arc does a well job to show how much Subaru is growing as a person. In MT Reudus might have changed his external habits and masked pretty well once he grew up, but that doesnt change the fact that he's still a perverted predatory freak, tendencies that are not taken seriously at all in the anime and are putunder a warm light for a laugh (even if i dont find it funny in the slightest). Second point would be the narrative: in Re:Zero the narrative is pretty high stakes almost every other episode, and every single one seems purposeful, not just useless filler content. MT could better fall in the slice of life category at this point, the episodes are aimless, lowering the stakes of the story by a lot. Third point is going to be the cast: Re:Zero has a wide cast of independent characters, each with their own stories and flaws that dont rotate around the protagonist, making them purposeful and interesting. MT's cast on the other hand is shallower than a puddle, and what I mean by that is that especially the female leads, dont have an actual meaning or are useful to the story if not only to orbit around Rudeus, with their only labels strapped on them being either rudeu's wife or best friend. Conclusion: Re:Zero is simply better in every aspect, and Rudeu's ass is grass to Subaru
