scamalicious business alert (scene edition)

**dont be scared by the size of ur scrollbar! the majority of this blog is just photos :-)

changed the title from the original I posted on spacehey because my blog was a le epic fail and got shadowbanned from google search results for a hot minute in june when they first got traction.

im gonna make this more concise and voice my actual concerns about the site now that there's more info about it out there & people are actually receiving their packages.

Note that I am very glad that they're moving away from AI art & are actually showing the entire process for their artworks now, even though the art style and quality of it are much different than to the original anime sheppyloveshop girl mascot. kudos to them for that. i'd rather human drawn things that don't look as polished rather than something AI generated that is traced over. it adds to the charm.

However, for those of u who are aware of their actions and dont want to read the WHOLE thing, sheppyloveshop is still continuing to falsely advertise themselves as a non-fast fashion, small, "made-to-order" business, when in reality, theyre a dropship and white labelling/print-on-demand scam. Many of their items are not worth the price that they sell them for, and many of them are legit re-listings of items on Temu and other fast fashion suppliers.

Sheppyloveshop claims to be:

an independent, art-driven brand based in Philadelphia and California...our team comes from backgrounds in fashion and fine art, blending both worlds into bold, expressive designs. We are graphic artists who enjoy turning ideas into playful, statement pieces that feel personal and unexpected...everything we create is developed by our U.S. design team, with a focus on strong visual identity, creativity, and individuality.

I voiced some criticism in my original blog on spacehey concerning their AI usage. The majority of their AI use (in terms of images) has now stopped & they're opting to instead just make collages of their clothing items. (Their product descriptions are still definitely AI generated though, but imo its not as egregious as generating AI models to model their clothes)

However, I still have some questions/concerns regarding how transparent they are in their business practises & sourcing of their stuff. Not to mention their prices in comparison to how much their original counterparts cost...

SOURCE OF HOODIES, SHIRTS, AND VESTS

white labelling: White-label products are sold by retailers with their own trademark but the products themselves are manufactured by a third party.

aka, theyre not designing or making the product themselves. they just put their design ON a premade product.

All around 80 dollars

The sweaters and vests advertised on printful for a little over 50 dollars.

Same goes for vests and non-button-up sweaters.

And for beanies

The material & knit is 1:1.

The price markup is roughly 50% - 60% the amount for each product, and this is for individual products. When you buy in bulk, the cost of each individual piece is less, so you get a better deal. Of course, you need to make profit as a business. Duh. But when you markup as a small business on printing services like this to where you're reaching almost doubling the original price (ie, ur GAINING the price of the OG base product & recovering the loss simultaneously), people are REALLY not gonna be happy with your prices. Not to mention, many other small businesses based on Instagram sell ACTUAL NON-print-on-demand tops and bottoms for significantly less than that (more on that later).

You can pretty much check any of their items that follow a pattern such as backpacks, slippers, shirts, hoodies, etc.
they all have a base product that they just slap the stuff onto.
also, shopify, the service with which the site runs, has its own print-on-demand service, but it's not open for non-registered users. I found that on the custom hoodies page, they got the same exact base as the ones sold on the site.
oh and the backpacks:

print-on-demand services and white labelling in and of themselves AREN'T A BAD THING! However, when you're claiming that you're a small business making everything yourself and designing everything yourself...
why lie when this information is so easily available?

Dropshipping & false advertising
Dropshipping: a retail business tactic where you sell products on your website without keeping any physical stock. Instead, the seller transfers the orders and their shipment details either to the manufacturer, a wholesaler, another retailer, or a fulfillment house, which then ships the goods directly to the customer.

Made-to-order is TECHNICALLY true, since they themselves do not keep a bunch of things in stock. But the wholesalers and other manufacturers... that may not be the case.

Let's take this Eyelet Cami Top for example. It seems to be unique and pretty cool.

Oh wait!

Screenshot-2026-08-17-at-8-18-59-PM

509 rubles is about 6 dollars USD by the way, and they are selling it for almost 25$ w.o tax and shipping.

Screenshot 2026 08 17 at 8 18 43 PM

it also used to be on temu but the listing has been taken down.
Screenshot-2026-08-17-at-8-18-23-PM

Now, let's take this tutu. This is a bit more complicated.
Screenshot-2026-08-17-at-8-56-20-PM
this costs about 50 dollars.
Now, let's compare it to a resale site that has the EXACT same skirt photo on its page.
Screenshot-2026-08-17-at-8-56-14-PM

the redirect leads u to an aliexpress page that doesn't have the EXACT skirt, but I found the same brand on a different wholesale site.
Note how none of the skirts are exactly the same as the sheppyloveshop one but follow the same overall shape and design.
Screenshot-2026-08-17-at-8-57-40-PM
but! see the section labelled "product details" ?
well under it, you can see that theres a section that says "customisation: available"

meaning, people who order from this brand can customise the ways their skirts look. they can easily tell this manufacturer "oh i want the top to be this color but the tulle underneath it to be a different colour". it will cost a bit more of course, but nothing crazy LIKE FIFTY DOLLARS PER SKIRT.

Okay... how about this skirt?Screenshot-2026-08-17-at-9-05-20-PM
50 bucks

they didnt even try. costs 26euro

Screenshot-2026-08-17-at-9-05-57-PM

and lookie here what i found! another skirt being sold on their site for 50 bucks!

Screenshot-2026-08-17-at-9-05-39-PM
(one of the ppl i have added actually told me that they have this exact skirt and they did not buy it from sheppyloveshop. soooooo... yeah.)

handmade spiked leg warmer?

Screenshot-2026-08-17-at-9-30-26-PM

nope

Screenshot-2026-08-17-at-9-29-41-PM

also, the leg warmers arent 48usd; that's for the set.

Screenshot-2026-08-17-at-9-31-11-PM

out of which, they are selling the skirt too xoxo

Screenshot-2026-08-17-at-9-32-57-PM Screenshot-2026-08-17-at-9-32-47-PM

theyre selling the skirt for almost TWICE the price. this is insanity bro.

and one of the most egregious, in my opinion, the brass knuckle belt.

Screenshot-2026-08-17-at-9-59-08-PM

aww the pink one's unavailable :( oh i dont know... maybe because it's not being sold on any wholesale sites or temu anymore...

Screenshot-2026-08-17-at-9-59-29-PM

99 cents bro are you kidding me

Screenshot-2026-08-17-at-9-59-51-PM

Also, when you buy in bulk, you pay less for each individual item. ^ check out those different packages.
Screenshot 2026 08 17 at 10 00 25 PM

yikes.
Screenshot-2026-08-17-at-10-00-38-PM

even more yikes

and it just goes on and on and on and on. im not gonna go through each individual item.

how did i know?

a small brand cannot design and ethically produce ALL these different types of items in the span of weeks.

I usually don't like to compare businesses and people, but in this case, I am going to.

There's many other scene and alt fashion associated instagram small businesses, but the one that I'll be comparing sheppyloveshop to is kitty couture.

https://kittycouture.co/

there's only 1 page of items, even though the shop has existed since 2025. if any reverse image searches are done on the items, you do not receive base items or random aliexpress, Temu, and alibaba listings. This store is a legit small business with limited stock. The photos are modelled by actual people and are not just photoshopped onto a white background in all their photos. There are closeups with REAL lighting on the pants, as well as photography of the embellishments on a non-white background surface to show the quality of the product. A lot of the items here ARE expensive, but not as expensive as those being sold by sheppyloveshop. A simple skirt costs around 40 bucks, and a jacket 65. Again. Expensive, but not nearing 100 dollars. (Also these are made of velour, which is a more expensive fabric than just a simple cotton fabric.)

Sheppyloveshop pretty much seemed to just appear out of nowhere this year (2026) and has many, many, MANY items. (Sheppyloveshop has existed since at least 2024…but I’ll get to that at the end).

on their official page, sheppyloveshop and the zippyartstudio account have stated that they are a team of 8 designers. A team of that size, especially for a small business, cannot come up with AND produce mockups for AND produce the actual items in the span of 2 weeks ethically.

Designing takes a lot of time and trial and error. Dropping 10 new items every two weeks is just impossible given the circumstances of the business, or at least what they say their business is like.

Not to mention, the website was so hastily put together, they didn’t even remove the legal jargon green text that they need to edit as a business for their own website!!!

Scroll down. the green text is text that shopify places as default text in privacy policies of a shop. this website owner was so lazy as to not even remove the green text or remove the "insert toll free telephone number" at the end of the privacy policy.
at the time of writing this blog, aug 18 2026, that text is still there btw.

I said this in my prior blog, but I will be reusing this point to again prove that sheppyloveshop is not even run by someone who cares about alt subcultures and values, but is rather a trend hopper who just wants to make a quick buck because scene is popular right now.

*If the prior drop shipping & buying from factories and groups that supply fast fashion brands like Temu isn’t enough to convince you that Sheppyloveshop is fast fashion, maybe this will.

Fast fashion brands constantly push out new designs because their goal is to sell sell sell, grab onto every micro trend ever. And sheppyloveshop has done the same based on their wayback machine archives!

In 2024, they latched onto a very whimsical post-Covid “indie” kind of aesthetic, selling various home items and just cute & pastel things. BECAUSE THATS WHAT WAS TRENDING.

Example of some placemats they sold

Screenshot-2026-08-17-at-8-51-56-PM

They would send PR packages and ask people to advertise their brand on instagram. However, they went by a slightly different name…sheppylove_shop. And the art account zippyartstudio? They were called “artistsheppy” :-)

Screenshot-2026-08-17-at-8-51-36-PM

They can change their usernames all they want and delete their comments, but they can’t get rid of the promo done by others.

At the end of the day, I’m not mad about drop shipping, I’m not mad about white-labelling or reselling. What I am mad about is that they are not transparent about their business model and are essentially scamming a bunch of people who are eager to buy clothes that suit their unique fashion that aren’t barricaded behind a massive number on depop or a one in a million chance at goodwill.

They are not about making scene clothes accessible. They are about making as much money as they can. Once it’s not profitable, they dip, just like they did with their prior shop, and wait until people forget about them.

Do not support this business, they are a scam. Please spread the word onto any other platform you can. Too many of my mutuals have been scammed, and legit NOBODY is talking about it and they just continue to become more and more popular.

If this gets shadowbanned too, idk man. Maybe I’ll make an insta account and post a callout myself on there. I don’t care if I get a cease and desist, I don’t care if I get cancelled. People deserve to know what they’re buying and that it's NOT worth it.

Kudos: 14

Goddamn there is so much evidence against these guys, did they genuinely not even think about reverse image searching!?

Thanks for doing God's work here for the scene  🙏
