season change + local gigs 09/27/26

Hello once again.

Autumn has officially begun and it has become evident with all of the leaves turning new colours. Somehow it is already almost October, which is exciting but also mildly terrifying with how fast the months have gone by. Not sure how I've already been on this site for nearly 3 months, but it is what it is.

The past week has been slow, but not uneventful. I've had some good conversations with my friends and listened to some really great music. This has been one of those weeks where I get into bands I haven't listened to in ages. It's nice getting back into old stuff. It's been a lot of screamo and metalcore, which I kind of fell out of love with for a while. I also cut my hair and to be honest, I've been feeling more like myself than I have for a while!

I also went to a couple gigs on the weekend and the bands were so good! Got a shirt from a band called 'Dirge' (from Vancouver if anyone was wondering. They're cool) and I had a short but good talk with one of the guys in it. All in all, an exceedingly positive experience. 

Also went to the thrift and good a good haul. I found the PERFECT base to begin making my Ticci Toby hoodie for halloween, so that will be a fun project to work on. Oh yes, also 3 different people working at the store complimented me! I had a really good interaction with one of them, she was super cool and had like a post-punk vibe, it was a really good day. 

Despite my excitement about the season, this time of year always seems to give me the feeling of impending doom. I'm not exactly sure what it is, but my experiences and general emotions seem to become heightened during this time. I also tend to become really paranoid that everyone I know hates me, so this is a preemptive apology to anyone I know in case this happens lol. I'm saying this like it's something I really need to warn you about. It's really not extreme, just something I thought I'd mention since I was thinking about it.

Anyways. I've been working on a portrait of Neil Perry from DPS in art class. So far I'm quite proud of it, so possible photos coming soon!
