Hello all four of you!

Yes I am writing a second blog because I have nothing else to do this morning. My car decided to die on me yesterday so I was unable to perform last night with the band Supernova. I rarely, if ever, miss a gig. And I hate cancelling unless it's for a very valid reason. Whether I am teaching or gigging, or doing a session, I always show up ready to rock. If something major comes up that's unavoidable, then I take necessary steps.

Still I feel unprofessional.

Last time I can recall backing out of a gig was way back in 2014 and that was because of heavy snow. The club owner bitched at me for cancelling and I said "The safety of my band comes first" and all he cared about was the bottom line. I even said "You don't have to book me anymore, fine with me." (He booked me two months later HA!) So when my car was giving me trouble, I alerted the band yesterday and said I would do my best to make it. Unfortunately, it was not meant to be.

They still performed as a trio, which they've done in the past, long before I joined. I am sure they did a great job as they are top-notch musicians and pros. It was nice of some of their friends to email me asking "Are you okay?" So that was nice. I am fine, but the car...not so much.

I am supposed to do another gig today with another band, and if I get my car back today, then great. If not, the bassist can pick me up/drop me off as he lives nearby. I even offered to pay for his gas and he refused. Teamwork makes the dreamwork...or something. 

Not having a car is like not having arms though...
