Sharing/performing songs

Why is sharing your own music with people you know irl so difficult?? Like it's genuinely so embarrassing. I've recorded myself singing/playing guitar and even uploaded a few of those videos, but the thought of sharing them with my friends or family makes me want to die, same with performing in front of them. 

If one of my friends found a video of me singing an original song I fear I'd have to run away to the woods and become feral. It's not only that but performing in general. Obviously, original songs are more personal and therefore more embarrassing, but I've also got so much performance anxiety or just the fear of people I know judging my mediocre skills.

My parents told me they wanted to hear me play guitar by the end of the summer (recorded or live) and it feels so embarrassing, the most they've heard is me playing from my bedroom and even then I only try to play when I'm home alone.
