As the two walked through the walkway, hair being blown by the gentle breeze of the afternoon air, time seemed short of itself. At that moment, while giggling at a joke the other had said earlier, the soft-spoken doe looked deep into their feline friend’s eyes, realizing the day had been nothing but perfect.
Suddenly their eyes met, a weird but comforting silence filled up the surroundings as both their faces slowly gained a reddish tint.
“Y-You…” The nervous doe said, as the words seemed stuck in her throat. “You look… You look really pretty tonight..”
The cat’s eyes widen as if caught by surprise, speechless, she keeps looking up at the doe as a spark forms in their eyes.
“U-Um.. Well, not as much as you.” She pauses, breaking her soft figure with a soft giggle as the doe girl subsequently follows her with another giggle.
“Well do you see me being a kitty cat? Nooope, I'm a doe!” The doe giggles harder before being interrupted by the cat girl.
“See? That’s why you’re cuter!!-”
“Nuh uh-”
“YUH UUUHHHH-”
They exchange stares again, pausing for a second before giggling and getting closer, embracing themselves in a soft, warm hug. The kitty notices some unusual noises coming from the deer girl’s side, quickly breaking the hug to check on her.
Tears passed through the deer girl’s face, twinkling with the sunset’s shine, her smile still intact. The cat worriedly grabs her hands, to get a good look at her face.
“A-are you okay?! Did I do something?” She asks, worried about her friend. After a couple seconds, the deer tries saying something as their voice keeps shaking. The kitty sits her down right next to herself on a nearby bench facing the river. “It’s okay, it really is.”
“F…Fuck.. I must look really pathetic huh?..” The deer girl giggles as her voice trembles. “I thought.. I thought I could just keep myself from crying, j-just holding it in…” She looks at her feline friend’s worried expression, smiling while tears flow down her eyes. “I-I like you, okay? I like you a lot!” She rubs her eyes, cleaning the tears on her shirt. “E-Ever since the first day I met you, you never left my mind.. And now I feel like such a loser for even admitting to this!!”
“D-Dani..” The kitty girl holds her hands, looking deeply into her crying purple eyes.
