So the last few weeks have been...interesting. I had expressed some interest in losing weight to my mom, and sometime after seeing a doctor (for unrelated reasons), my mom asked if I'd want to see nutritionist or dietician or something (I don't think either of us is sure of the difference but we are learning those are two different things). I agreed to it, and we eventually got an appointment with a nutritionist. She wasn't awful, but the conversations didn't always feel like I got something from them, you know? She just kinda listed off things I have to stop eating and things I have to eat instead, and a lot of these replacements were the kinds of things I've only seen be eaten regularly by models and old people watching their cholesterol. I mentioned that I would need to transition into this and she's like 'yeah, you won't get into these habits right away' and then at later appointments when we'd go over what I've been eating lately and I mention some slip ups she's like 'that has sugar :/.' So one of the things she suggests is if I want some kind of dessert, try some cottage cheese or Greek yoghurt with berries, and as a genuine question I asked, 'what about honey?' since honey is a natural sweetener, and for one second, she just gives me this Dolores Umbridge-ass stare like 'how dare you try to come up with more solutions.' Just kinda cold. Anyways, I then later found out that the main reason my mom proposed this was because my oldest sibling apparently went to my mom saying I should see someone about my eating habits. I have a lot of siblings and the oldest ones have always talked about how me and my youngest brother have things 'so much easier' than them since my parents have learned to not be hawks (well...less hawk-like), but most of them have gotten over it. One exception is my sister, who seems to resent me for getting an autism diagnosis and support for finishing things that are easier for other people, because it was about that time she started bullying me and going out of her way to make me feel like I'm spoiled and lazy and don't deserve support or accommodations. My oldest sibling, however, isn't usually like that, at least not with me, tho they are a bit of a control freak and obsessed with health trends. Still, I wasn't really expecting them to backseat parent the way my sister does, and it just drives me insane the way it feels like everyone in my family seems to find SOMETHING wrong with me and can't mind their own damn business.
Well, on a lighter note, we were also suggested a dietician to see, and she seems pretty cool. I will say I'm already warming up a bit to Greek yoghurt (at least the ones with flavors mixed in), but she went ahead and recommended a light brand with some fun and interesting flavors, and I actually really look forward to trying some soon. ^_^ Tbh, some of the flavors I heard about are moreso things I just want to try out of morbid curiosity, namely marshmallow, haha. The banana cream flavor sounds great, tho. She also seemed accepting of the fact that honey mustard might be the only thing that will get me to eat a salad heh.
