Years ago, as a curly hair, you couldn't buy any specific products for curls and you only had to buy straight hair products. Now, with social medias, curly hair are sm appreciated by ppl. We could say "finally" but no. The problem is when you don't have a perfect curly hair routine with 42 different products for getting the "perfect curls", you aren't recognised as "a curly hair". That's actually not normal at all, because what if I wanted to just let my hair be, without being called "crazy" or "wild"?
I'm a curly hair girl, but I don't spend hours in the bathroom curlying every single curl of my hair. (not blaming the ppl who does that, it's as cool as any other ways to style curly hair) I stopped using 4 different products to have "perfect curls" and I stopped sleeping with a special bonnet for it. Why? Bc I was done with all of it, and tbh, I tried every tut on social medias to look like the girls who have perfect curls : nothing worked bc it's just not my type of hair. I have thick hair, and of course the result of a curly hair routine won't be the same as the video I saw made by a girl with thin hair! Before I realised that, I thought my hair were the problem. Again, that's just the way you style it! Now, I love the result of my own curly hair routine, and everyone should stops trying to have curly hair looking like an other person's curly hair, because every single type of hair is different, even if it seems "identical"
You still can do a special curly hair routine, just know that if it doesn't work, that's not bc you did it bad, it's bc it's not for ur hair.
Assuming our curls means letting them be how they naturally are too!

Real, my mother wanted me to have straight hair so I tried to "tame" my hair for so long and ended ashamed of it so I just put my hair in a bun for a long time. But now I don't give a shi, all I use is conditioner and water to "wake up my curls" again, curly hair is cool
