i actually have a friend who used to be utterly obsessed with mastema. she also really liked white mask varre from elden ring, the guy who lurks outside the tutorial area and gaslights you. she has a type. i just don't see it.. and now i'm going chaos, so i don't have to be nice to this guy.

so i actually pulled up a walkthrough for this part because i didn't get a scene when i returned to my ship. my last playthrough was law, so i didn't know if there was a different way to progress except for agreeing with mastema and doing whatever he wanted, and his ominous "you'll be back" style goodbye had me suspicious, and i didn't want to wander all over the map just to come crawling back.

as i suspected... you do have to let him give you his magic crystal. it's the only way. T_T

he wants a megami demon and a wilder demon, which is unfortunate because my demon storage is full of demons i actually want. i have one fusion fodder sitting around (vermin myrmecolion) that can be used to make a wilder, so i fuse that up with the momonofu (i was waiting to maybe make a fury ares with this one but it's also kind of trash), which makes room for a megami summon.

stupid mastema is getting a pretty good wilder demon out of this bargain.
