★ streamer university & inauthenticity

ok so today (for me) was the last day of streamer university (SU). this is the first time i'm watching streams like this, well i've been seeing clips and that so i occasionally flick through some streamers attending on twitch. i did see a few clips of last years' when it was happening but this time i wanted to kinda be more updated on it mainly because i couldn't find anything to watch recently.

honestly i do see the appeal of the experience, it really feels like larping uni lmao like idk it felt like i was playing high school on roblox but you have the ability to see everything from everyone's povs. though watching felt so inauthentic, it really felt like everyone there was clip farming and it was just cringe tbh. i feel like many streamers were rude esp that ojay guy who attacked plaqueboymax for his diva tattoo and saying it translates to him being demonic ?? then max got upset then ended his stream anyway it looked like streamers were trying to clip farm by being rude and bullying which wasn't fun to watch at all. not to mention people having food fights and throwing food or whatever at each other in the dorms, making the staircases and what not smell.

it could be the exposure to the pressure of a big experience like SU which had caused these streamers to act 'over the top' with the belief they are competing with every other streamer on there, esp with some streamers smaller than others. 

it was also insane how there was this viewer i think called 'streamerbountyhunter' who would go on streams and ask streamers to do things (some not so kind and would start drama) for a large amount of gifted subs (money?? tbh idk but it's a big deal to streamers). that whole concept reminds me of the movie nerve (2016).

watching these past few days kinda showed how these streamers are disrespectful, rude, desperate and ungrateful which makes me dislike parts of the streamer community (NOT HERE TO SAY THEY'RE ALL LIKE THAT). this shows to prove we should really consider who we choose to 'make famous', support or give opportunities like SU to. honestly i really am disappointed with this years' SU i do feel like it could've been a positive experience for smaller streamers to learn, make connections/collaborations and have fun respectfully. 

here to say this does not include yonnajay she is the cutest! everyone could learn a thing or two about kindness from her and she was by far my favourite streamer to watch at SU.
