I've been thinking about what my style is lately, so this is more of a ramble. I go through this thought process a lot so I might as well document it once in case it's useful to anyone.
What I Look For:
Biggest Style/Aesthetic Inspos: Weird Al, Muppets (esp Gonzo, Scooter, Beaker), Wisdom Kaye, the 2000s older brother archetype, Mrs. Frizzle
Common Search Keywords: maximalism, colorful, masc, men, 70s, 80s, 90s, layering, light academia, campy, new wave, eccentric
What I Wear:
Frequent Items: matching Bert and Ernie sweaters, cargo jeans, low top tiger print platform converse, color block pants, muppet graphic tees, Kermit letterman jacket, low top converse with red and green laces, marching dinkles, chunky silver jewelry, brown leaf patterned jeans
Fav Color Combos: red and green (especially super saturated or pinks and greens), red and blue, black and brown, green and brown, orange and green, red and yellow and blue
Current Fav Outfit Type: patterned collared shirt tucked in and half open over a graphic tee, jacket if it's cold, chunky necklace, big shorts or pants, crystal bracelet and silver rings, converse
Things To Style:
Items: ties, flared jeans and bell bottoms, heeled shoes, patterned suit jackets, large belt buckles, mismatched socks, dress shoes, pants chains, chokers, dangling earrings
Ideas: WheelDecide new color combos, closet cosplay OCs, DIY an outfit piece, outfits for different Muppets
Can you tell I've never been one for sticking to an aesthetic? I think it's more fun to mix and match. It's so much more fun to me to just pick something that catches my eye and puzzle together an outfit with it.
I get bored with my outfits if I don't change things up sometimes so that's why I do this sort of thing. Maybe it's useful to someone, maybe it's not. Maybe you just have questions about my style. Maybe you don't care and just needed something to read. No matter what, thanks for reading. :D
