so,i have to eat sugar free for a bit cuz doctors orders and whatnot, anyway i wanted hot chocolate but the prepared powder contains sugar,i think, cuz its really sweet,so...here's a sugar free version:
1.get small pot
2.put some water in it,just enough to cover the bottom, this is so the milk doesn't burn.
3.get a mug you want to drink from, measure the amount of milk you want with that mug,add to pot and turn on stove on medium to high heat (i do it on high cuz i'm impatient)
4.get some unsweetened cocoa powder, also known as baking cocoa (i add about a table spoon but make it as strong as you want, this makes it so its about medium strength).
5.add roughly the same amount of honey (or more if you like it sweet),cuz the powder is pretty bitter by itself, you can do this same step with sugar but this is with honey cuz....its sugar free.
6.stir a lot to make sure it doesn't burn,it only takes a couple minuets to heat up so it won't be an issue to keep an eye on it
7.add extras, orange peel or nutmeg or vanilla or whatever you want.
8.if you added stuff like orange peels strain it before serving, and then enjoy.if you didn't add anything you can skip the straining.
you can also do basically the same thing for pudding:
steps 1-2 are the same.
3.add milk, you can decide however much you want,i do about half a small pot.start heating on medium to high heat (again i do high cuz i don't want to wait that long).
4.add cocoa for "chocolate" pudding, you can also add whatever flavouring you want, peanut butter, vanilla etc.
5.add some honey (or sugar),again for the cocoa roughly the same amount, but for the others you probably won't need as much, but adjust however you like.
6.add cornstarch (or cornflour but you will need to add more of that),i like to make this into a...slurry i believe its called, basically you add water to it and make a liquid that will thicken up whatever you add it to,i prefer to do it this way cuz there's less clumps compared to just dumping some cornstarch straight into the pot.i think you only need 1 or 2 table spoons if its straight cornstarch.
7.stir for a bit,it will take a couple minuets to thicken up but it will,if after a couple minutes it doesn't then you can add some more cornstarch slurry then wait again while stirring constantly.
8.i like to eat this warm but you can let it set if you want, that will take like an hour maybe??? i didn't measure it cuz i was busy when i left it to set.it will be more of a solid if you let it cool though.
i hope you like these, they're pretty simple and quick, feel free to comment a review on it if you tried it or just whatever you want to talk about!
i don't know if this works with other types of milk,i've only ever used the cow milk.
have fun lovelies! o((>ω< ))o
