I'm a huge cold war enthusiast, and I've been collecting military surplus for a few years. Recently, I set my sights on a Czechoslovak Peoples Army kit from the late Soviet period, and I'll probably dump a ton of info in the blog eventually about it. I've got big plans for putting this kit together, and it's not all easy. However, this week, I've got much of the material coming in. I'm working on the CSLA Vz.85 kit, which was relatively short lived, but is super iconic to me, and befitting of my environment.
The full list of equipment requires:
1x Vz.85 parka
1x Vz.85 Field Jacket
1x pair of Vz.85 trousers (with additional liner for cold months)
1x Vz.85 helmet
1x 45mm belt and suspenders
Canteen and canteen pouch
Shovel and shovel holder
Vz.85 35L rucksack, with additional 15L shoulder pouch
Vz.60 boots
1x 4-cell mag pouch for Vz.58-V rifle
Vz.85 field cap
...and I think that just about covers it all. Tonight I received the parka, and I already have the Vz.85 helmet (it may actually be a Soviet SSh-40, however the helmets are effectively the same). The specific boots may be hard to find, as during the 2010s, they became very popular among hikers for how numerous and cheap they were. So, finding them in my size is a pain in the ass, but I will persist.
Photos are likely to come soon, but here is an idea of the full kit
