That time i lowk saved the lives of my baby chickens

So i hv a habit of not sleeping at night, and it was around 4am at the time. My fatass felt peckish so i went to the kitchen, where my mom kept the chicks. She kept them inside cuz otherwise they'd get eaten by snakes or lizards (some acc did got eaten by a snake around last month but thats another story).

So i went to the kitchen, n i heard the chicks chirping like crazy, i thought i js woke them up so i ignored them. But then their chirping got louder & louder n a thought crossed in my head: "what if they actually need help rn? What if they're abt 2 die n im js ignoring their cries ?" bcs this is like 1 of my biggest fears btw, being indirectly responsible for a death bcs i unknowingly ignored cries for help. 

I then got up, went to check on em... And they were COVERED in ants, black ants, and i REALLY mean COVERED, i could barely see them underneath all the ants. So i grabbed the container they were in & rushed them to the sink. 

My ma's a light sleeper so naturally my panicked footsteps woke her up. Told her whats going on & we got to washing off the ants n picking them off, my sister also woke up to help us. 

The chicks are all grown now n they're fine :) which is kinda crazy bcs had i ignored their chirping they prolly woulda died
