Some time around the first or second week of August 1968, this album here, Sweetheart of the Rodeo was released! This album showed The Byrds' drastic shift to Country music and alienated their Psychedelic and Folk Rock fans, to some it didn't even seem like it was the same band. It didn’t sell too well and was not loved but it took a few years for people to realize how amazing and history-changing this album was. Now it is regarded as one of the best and one of the first Country Rock albums because it showed a classic Rock & Pop band playing Country, which is basically the definition of Country Rock! Many CD reissues like the Legacy Edition by Sony Music contain some outtakes and rehearsals of songs on album, some especially with Gram's original vocals kept on plus bonus tracks like Kevin Kelley's "All I Have Are Memories," Gram's original "Lazy Days" etc.
In my opinion this is The Byrds best album and my favorite album! Love Gram!
