The Fast & The Furious 25th Anniversary

The original Fast and Furious movie from 2001 is in theatres again in honor of its 25th anniversary.

Although I've seen it many times since childhood, I decided to go see it again and enjoyed the experience. Sure, the movie itself is cheesy, but aside from being the best in the series IMO, it had an unprecedented impact on car culture.

I wish they did more besides roll it out within a limited selection of theatres though. I saw that some fans were driving their period-correct JDM cars to showings, so it seems like a missed opportunity for the theatres to organize some sort of promotional events, like host car meets during weekend screenings, for example. Then again, maybe it would've attracted the wrong crowd and caused problems, so who knows. I'm just glad the powers that be haven't forgotten about the movie that brought the entire tuner car culture scene to the masses.
