The importance of platonic love

Something ive never understood is why people are always talking about romantic love when platonic love is just as important. Like i dont know who id be without my friends and i dont understand how people can just forget about their friends when they get a partner (as someone who has had a boyfriend for 2 years) my friends have helped me through some pretty rough times and theres no way id just be able to push them aside. I think platonic love and romantic love arent even that different aside from the way we as a society view and label it and like the ‘standards’. Honestly platonic love might be more important because like you could break up with your partner tomorrow and your friends (if they are good friends) would still be there by your side to help you through it.
