The movie Thirteen

This movie is a genuine masterpiece for those who saw it when the time was right. For those who didn't, I highly suggest you watch it on platforms it's available.

I resonate with this movie because it perfectly encapsulates how you can get sucked into a different lifestyle so fast and so young just for the sake of fitting in. I've had my "Evie" from 3rd grade all the way to 8th grade. Granted I wasn't as aesthetic or raunchy as the movie but holy shit was it almost the same. The funniest thing about my experience though was that I got so sick and tired of her that I just blocked her and never saw her again. I hear she has a neck tattoo now...

I also feel like the entire movie is not meant to be viewed by young ages because it makes the lifestyle so aesthetically pleasing that young people (and i'm speaking from experience) will completely brush past how it ends. Like yea sure there's a moral but at what cost? Half of the movie is her wearing cool outfits and getting sucked into that grim lifestyle that every rebellious teenager wanted. They want this lifestyle to have control over their own lives and have little idea what the repercussions will be. When I watched this movie for the first time I didn't give a shit about how the story ended, I wanted Evies top lmao.
