Lowkey everyone decided the last month of school was the best time to start dating, maybe its because its our senior year and were all going to different colleges so they don't really care about the consequences, but every single person on my friend group has started dating each other and Im the only one who didn't get the memo to find a boyfriend or be left out, so now I have no friends... again.
Ive been friends with one of the girls in the friend group since sophomore year and I do find it quite ridiculous that we became friends cause her friends stopped talking to her (one of them being the guy she's crushing on-- or has a weird situationship with-- I don't even know nor do I care at this point) when she broke up with her ex, so I do find it ironic that now that she's talking to someone romantically again (specially a guy who already left her alone by word of his ex girlfriend) she immediately stops talking to me and distances herself.
In all honesty, I should've seen it coming, it always happens that my friends all collectively decide they don't like me anymore or get annoyed or just grow tired of pretending they like hanging out with me and im left alone once again. But anyway, what can you do? they were getting toxic anyway. Too many hangouts that involved drinking and driving and sneaking into movie theaters and breaking the law- im not into that. Unlike them I do like my parents and im really not the biggest fan of drinking, and specially not a fan of getting in a car with a guy I barely know who's drunk and driving, hard pass. Im really not a fan of the idea of sneaking out without my parents permission, not cause they're strict, I know they'd let me if I asked cause they're chill, but im smart enough to know when a hangout is gonna be fun or just a stupid idea.
All of that to say, I have made another friend, we had already talked but we've gotten a lot closer recently since I don't hang out as much with the other gang anymore, and either way were going to the same college, different careers but same college nonetheless, and she actually cares for her studies and academics as well so that cool! she's also really fun to hangout with and really funny, we have the same sense of humor so its easy to take to her!
I just have to survive one more month of pretending I like them and I can finally cut them off, wish me luck!
