the state of competitive reality tv

reality tv has been kiiinda a trainwreck recently and sometimes it isn't even because of the shows themselves... it's all these freaks on gambling sites like kalshi betting on who wins. i watch survivor when it comes on and the past two winners have been completely spoiled for me because people on the inside already know who wins and spread the information... and then bet on it to get money before the show even AIRS. late stage capitalism has my hobby by the BALLS.

and i'm sorry if this offends someone reading this but i genuinely think love island is a government psyop meant to make people's brains melt. it's got WAY too much hype when there are way better relationship-focused shows out there. but i'm not into competitive dating.

big brother is live so it doesn't have the betting problem as much but holyyy crap this show has a lot of its own problems. whoever is in charge of casting is some sort of freak. enough casting random washed up republican racists! it's been this way for sooo long and honestly it's one of those shows that i start watching and then slowly stop picking it back up. but i'm in the competitive reality tv gaming community so i have to get with the program i guess!

anyways if you like rupaul's drag race and horror i recommend watching Dragula! it's super jaw dropping and trashy. the fashion is so interesting and although i disagree with the judging sometimes it's worth the spotlight put on queer and alternative drag artists. the show's becoming less niche constantly but at least i don't get spoiled by kalshi.
