it's been roughly 13 years since rockstar released gta 5. set in the series' state of san andreas, the game lampooned practically everything hollywood you can think of. from wrecking movie studios in car chases to elderly tourists rummaging through celebrity trash, they spared no expense in the sheer mockery of lavish hollyweird opulence.
one of my favourite moments was the paparazzi side mission: hounding a paris hilton inspired debutante as she drink drives her way around sunset boulevard. anyway...
...the memes aren't quite through yet because i can't believe we got a gta 6 release date before gta 6.
yep, after many years of forums flooded with wild speculation, many many leaks and insider info laid bare, the wait is almost over. while i'm not overly thrilled with the idea of it not getting a physical disc release (i.e. download only), i can understand the reasons why. gaming and gaming culture is continuously evolving, and due to speculation over the game file size, it's a necessary move.
so um, title of the blog?
i'd love to see the return of tommy vercetti. there's allusion to possible easter eggs, but i'd still like to see him in a side mission. i imagine him as a retired old crook, perhaps planning one last scheme before the grave finally opens up and takes him.
also, can we have love fist back?? they were quite arguably the most hilarious thing in vice city, and it would be a shame if they didn't make their own dazzling comeback!
another character i feel would be right at home in vice city is brucie from gta 4. i wonder how that roid pumping lunatic is now? can we hopefully see him getting ripped, getting juiced and making a total fool of himself down in south beach? also, it's a given that gta games have car races, right? i genuinely can't think of another character better suited to both the beach bum and car race life than good ol' brucie.
finally, i absolutely loved the way gta 5 hilariously parodied the church of scientology and it would be amazing for kifflom to return in some way. after all, los angeles may be the administrative hub for scientology as a whole, but its main "spiritual" training center is in florida. could we possibly get more praising of kraff? perhaps a trip out montage where you go up into one of lord xenu's space planes? please? it would be absolutely spectacular!
