thunderstorms, family trees and somehow i won makeup!?

Sooo... my boyfriend and I went to my family reunion yesterday, and of course a HUGE thunderstorm decided to crash the party.

Luckily, the reunion was under this giant tent, so we barely got wet making a run for it. The rain was absolutely coming down, but honestly it just made everything funnier.

I got to meet relatives I didn't even know I had. Every few minutes someone would introduce themselves and explain exactly how we're related... I nodded like I totally understood. 

The food was amazing, everyone had a great time, and then came the family raffle.

I NEVER win anything...

...until yesterday.

Somehow I walked away with this massive makeup basket that apparently cost a small fortune.  When we found out how much it was worth, my boyfriend and I just looked at each other like, "Wait... they spent that much?!" We were joking that maybe we should give it back because it felt way too fancy for us. 

Between the crazy weather, meeting long-distance relatives, and somehow winning the fanciest raffle prize there, it turned into one of those unexpectedly fun family days I'll definitely remember.
