hello! new user here, hope to meet some new people and have fun! i'm writing this because for about the last week, i've been mentally preparing and deciding on possibly the most important aspect of going abroad: my fashion. i'll be going to mexico for just under two weeks soon to visit my family, which i've been very excited about. and of course i've been deciding on outfits to bring, at least half of which consist of dresses. it's actually a pretty smart way of maximizing my luggage space, since a dress is only one piece of clothing, as opposed to a top and bottom. though that's mainly an excuse to bring the cutest little black dress with pink polka dots i own, which i've disappointingly only had the chance to wear, like, one time.
on a related note, i've been looking for what to wear at the airport specifically. i have traveled on a plane before - around two years ago, when i went to visit my family in mexico for the first time. though if i'm being honest, i didn't look my best while flying. i remember wearing a pink puffer jacket which, while certainly useful against the cold, did not do me much favors style-wise. this time i've been investigating the elusive phenomenon of the "airport crush" and the style behind becoming one. so i've been relentlessly going through my closet, scrolling pinterest, and have come to a semi-conclusion about what'll be wearing come the day i get on the plane.
outfit #1
the last time i went to mexico was in the winter, which i could definitely feel when i was getting off the plane. fortunately i'll be going just as summer starts this time, which means i won't have to be limited by bulky coats or anything of the like. if i'm being honest, i doubt i won't be at least a little cold with my outerwear here, but if it's for style then i won't mind it too much. i've noticed a big part of airport outfits everyone talks about is comfort, which makes sense - you're constantly walking around, standing around, sitting around. i'd hate to have to wear heels during any of that. so i've picked out a simple pink tank top and a pair of grey foldover leggings. the top especially i think looks very cute on me, mainly because it doesn't fit me as loosely as a lot of my other tops - it does a better job of accentuating my figure. the leggings i got for like $10, and they're almost entirely cotton!
outfit #2
i have a somewhat similar outfit planned for when i return, though with the right accessories it can definitely be completely different, so that's not a problem for me. the top is same as the first one, just in a different color. i love brown and pink together, so the sweater goes pretty well together with it in my opinion. at first i was worried the leggings would clash with the rest of my outfit, but after trying it on i should've known black, brown, and pink make for a nice color palette. the sweater has more coverage too, so if it's cold hopefully i won't end up with hypothermia.
anyways, i think that's all i have for my airport outfits! i'll see if i can blog about what happens in mexico when i go, maybe i'll upload some pictures. goodbye!
xoxo, ♥

outfit one sounds perfect for the summer. i went to mexico two years ago in june and it was scorching hot and the sun was relentless. i wore a sweater over a tank top for the plane and once i landed i changed my sweatpants to shorts bc i knew it was going to be hot 😭
