Trying To Grow Food

My sister has gotten back into gardening so she can grow her own food for the fall. I've never gardened but she needed a hand so I decided to give her some help. It has been fun, but I really should do some independent research about this stuff. She knows everything, which is great, but me knowing nothing has caused some screw ups on the way.

Last week was spent reviving our lawn, but today we finally got to plant! We are going to make proper labels for our rows of seeds this evening, so for now we are using rocks and a diagram of our garden on paper to keep track of what is where. We're trying to grow carrots, broccoli, lettuce, Walla Walla onions, and green onions! It is a lot but we have more space than what is shown in the picture above.

I'm strongly hoping this works out! I've been a bit nervous considering my lack of experience and my sister having not done this for many years. Still, we at least did this while spending as little money as possible, so if trying to grow stuff this season is a bust, at least we did not lose a lot. It is a learning experience as well!
