~ twilight thrift haul + dealing with my shopping addiction ~ daily blog

✧˖°.——⋆˖⁺‧₊☽❀☾₊‧⁺˖⋆——✧˖°.

Happy friday everyone!! I missed yesterdays blog and I think I'm technically one behind but who really cares!! It's currently 2 am but I'm going to talk about thursday anyways and hopefully I can back on track with posting a blog daily.

After my mini-shift at the coffee shop, my boyfriend and I got dinner at Panera and then made a pit stop at the local goodwill and also at five below!! I've been looking for more hardcover twilight books and the rest of the cds! I got one duplicate book but that's actually totally fine since I want to customize the extras covers with paint and drawings!

(made my bf hold em for me)

The New Moon disc is unfortunately a little scratched up so worst case scenario, i use it as decoration! But if it plays just fine, I only have two soundtracks left before I've completed the first part of the music portion! I do want to collect the different variations of the vinyl soundtracks, but I don't even have a vinyl player yet (or a place to put one) so that's much further down the line.

I've been trying to be more conscious of my spending habits for two reasons:

1: Back in 2023, i had a horrible shopping addiction and spent over $3000 in two months on absolute junk and ended up losing housing and had to move back home to my parents. I put most of the blame on the fact that I was never allowed to buy myself things without my parents permission in high school (despite it always being with my own money) and once I moved out two weeks after graduation, I went a little crazy. I still definitely believe that played a big role, but now that I'm a little older, I realized I need to hold myself more accountable when it comes to that situation.

2: My boyfriend works soo much and loves buying me things even though I can't stand it when he does- (i just feel like i don't deserve anything LMAOO i grew up with very little self-esteem) but since he spends so much on me, I can rarely return that favor and buy him things or get him 'just-because- gifts and I feel awful. He's also saving so much more money for us to move out of his parents house and as some of you guys read before, I've been unemployed for majority of this year. Not by choice of course, I applied for over 100 retails jobs over the past few months and got no reply's in return. So I guess the other reason I'm going to be trying so hard to keep money in my savings account is that I feel bad for always being the one without money and the one that can't buy anything for anyone else.

However, on the flip side, I love thrifting, and going shopping for good finds with my best friend is something I love doing, and I know that as long as I save money from each paycheck- take care of my monthly expenses, I shouldn't feel ashamed to buy things I really really want.

Growing up, my parents were very financially focused and me buying something as simple as a new pair of shoes was considered a huge deal and I always felt guilty after buying anything. It wasn't like I was struggling with finances, I was literally 15 with wealthy parents. (Which I am very blessed to have that, please don't think I'm not, money was just treated very weirdly in my family, it was brought up all the time and my parents acted very mean whenever I bought myself anything, no matter the price. Which looking back now explains why I get a pit in my stomach before checking out at a store and driving home with my haul in the passenger seat.)

I suppose moving forward I want to be more mindful of how much I spend at one time, and too commit myself to a budget. I know that sometimes if I had money saved up, I'll find any excuse I can to convince myself to transfer that money into my checking. SO lol, the goal this time is not to do that because I shouldn't be 21 with only $1.68 to my name.

Also, I know this is silly to post about not spending money while also telling you guys about my $10 haul from goodwill at the same time. But it's okay because my boyfriend wanted to buy it (i still want to puke just thinking about it lol).

Okay bye <3

Alright, that's a nice find and also I'm glad that you somehow learned some lesson on what happened to you.

Just a little tip though, I think maybe you should have a some kind of saving allotment just in case you wanna buy something where you'll put a little bit on it while focusing on your important expenses where you'll put a lot on these.

So you have things balanced and somehow you could buy whatever you want.

But yeah, I wish you all the best all around in the future and I hope you'll have a good day. :)
