So it all began in 2016 when I was elementary school. I was the stereotypical unicorn/mermaid girl that was OBSESSED with all things rainbow and sparkly, basically an irl version of Mabel from Gravity Falls. So when the unicorn frappuccino was announced I knew i HAD to get in on it.
However, the weekend it came out, I was at my dad's house (child of divorce moment) and he was NOT about to spend however much on a unicorn frappuccino that had zero nutritional content.
Well, that was fine, I would just wait until I was back at my mom's house and have her buy me one then. BUT THEN, the morning I went back to my mom's it was announced that the unicorn frappuccino was so popular that all of the Starbucks near me had run out of the ingredients and that they couldn't make any more.
Many years passed and I thought I had missed my chance. All of those people who'd gotten a unicorn frappuccino existed in the same part of my brain as people who got to experience LIVE AID 1985, or who got to go to Woodstock (the first one). They got to experience something that I simply never would...
UNTIL earlier this summer, Starbuck's announced that they would be bringing the unicorn frappuccino back for ONE WEEKEND ONLY. And I knew that my prayers had been answered.
As soon as I was awake on the morning of August 15th, I raced to my nearest Starbuck's and (politely) demanded a grande cup full of unicorn barf so that I could finally, after A DECADE of waiting, finally try the unicorn frappuccino.
And then, it was in my hands- and I'll tell you what, those ten years of waiting were the best spent years. Without even realizing it, I had been waiting for the most fantaboulous tasting beverage in my life. I took one sip of that magenta-teal concoction and I was instantly transported back to the days of my youth, to the days when I still believed in unicorns and could still hear Twenty-One Pilots on the radio without ads- it. was. the. best. goshdang. thing. I've. tasted. all. summer.
So, to those of you who got to experience the unicorn frappuccino this past weekend, congratulations! We're now part of the not-so niche group of people in my head who have experienced something truly magical. And if you didn't get a chance, then I sincerely hope they bring it back so that you too, can experience what unicorn dump tastes like.

(note: the town i live in has these compostable cups, so they weren't see through. but I assure you, those are THE unicorn frapps of my dreams.)
