update!

ok hai so i kind of disappeared for a week after changing my status

so BASICALLY what happened is that during a repair of my 3ds, which was supposed to be a simple circlepad replacement (my old one was fucked up).. the RIBBON cable's PLUG, for the RIGHT SHOULDER BUTTON, CAME OFF THE THE RIBBON CABLE????

ok not a big deal right? just buy a shoulder button replacemen- BUT IT WAS A BIG DEAL!! because the PLUG was CONNECTED TO THE SOCKET ON THE MOTHERBOARD!!!

at first i tried to super glue it back to the ribbon cable,,, unfortunately that only made things sticky. so THEN i just tried to unplug it.

didnt work. just scratched that shit up and maybe the motherboard too.

AND THEN IT TURNS OUT I DIDNT EVEN DO THE CIRCLEPAD REPLACEMENT CORRECTLY!!! ARGH...

all of this i could fix. but i didnt trust myself to not make things worse, so i went to find a replacement (and i did! a n3ds LL!!) so it wasnt all bad.. im still kind of upset about it. but hey!! now i have 2 3ds consoles!!!

i do plan on actually repairing my old 3ds. ive had it for almost my entire life, theres no way im just gonna abandon it! just for now, im gonna use it as repair practice with little to no stakes. and then once im more familiar with the internals and experienced with the parts (and after watching a million 3ds repair videos for every problem possible), im gonna buy a new motherboard + ribbon cable and FULLY repair it! plus im gonna put the new touchscreen i bought for it (before i fucked it up) and make it good as new!!!

heres the new and old 3ds together! the tiny pink one (with all the stickers) is chowdown, and im thinking of naming the newbie locket(s).,

theres a tpu case on the way for locket (and i think im gonna have to get a screen protector if i wanna play pokemon rangers)

there has been other life stuff that happened, buts its a little to personal to be sharing to everyone methinks. best to just share the cool 3ds stuff!!
