Weird PC hardware, anyone?

here's a dinky little piece of factory-fresh e-waste! rocking 2 gigs of ram and shipping with android 5.1.1, this is the Nextbook Ares 11, the worst 2-in-1 you'll ever use.

you're probably thinking, "android? this isn't a pc at all!" and you'd be so wrong! in the vague technical sense it would be a computer anyway, but its x64 architecture and efi firmware make it a computer by any definition!

i have it running xubuntu 24.04 here, both by necessity of the hardware and because xfce is my favorite desktop environment. it's shockingly functional, even a decade after release when it was already underpowered. i can browse the web and do basic photo editing, and i could even get some good writing work done on here too since the battery's great under linux.

i'm working on a video about this thing to post here, but until then, woffy out!
