What Kind Of Music Inspires me?

What kind of music inspires me when I create it?

One question I've been thinking about lately is...

What actually inspires me when making music?

Well...

It's actually kind of confusing.

Most people would probably think:

"Oh, he makes electronic music."

"So electronic music must be his biggest inspiration."

Ehhh...

Yes.

But also...

No.

Of course electronic music inspires me.

But there's another genre that's been living in my playlist for years...

Metalcore and Crabcore

Especially those huge breakdowns with synths.

I absolutely love bands like:

• Attack Attack! — Stick Stickly & Dr. Shavargo Pt. 3

• One Morning Left — Worthless Girls & Be Loverz

• Asking Alexandria — Alerion

...and honestly...

That's only naming a few.

Now...

I know what some of you might be thinking.

"Wait... your music doesn't sound like Metalcore at all."

XD

And you're right.

It doesn't

I'm not inspired by the screaming.

Or the heavy guitars.

I'm inspired by the synth melodies, the atmosphere, and the way electronic sounds blend into those breakdowns.

That's the part that always catches my attention.

I don't listen to them because I want to copy them.

I listen to them because I love their energy.

The emotion.

The chaos.

The way electronic sounds somehow fit perfectly with heavy guitars.

So...

Maybe that's why my music sounds the way it does.

People probably don't expect those influences when they hear my songs.

But I think that's what makes creating music so much fun.

Would I love to make a Metalcore song someday?

Absolutely.

Would my throat survive it?

...

Probably not.

P.S.

Maybe it's better for everyone if I stick to synths.
