What was your experience like with spacehey?

Hey all! 

As I've mentioned before in my bio, I used to use SpaceHey before it was blocked in my country (the UK) due to the Online Safety Act (don't let the name fool you, it's not a very good law.) and I was wondering... 

What were other people's experiences like on SpaceHey?

My personal experience was very mixed. There was a lot, and I mean a LOT of really concerning stuff that just never got dealt with by the admins because they refused to ban people who kept creating multiple shock accounts, despite it continuing to ruin their site. They said it was to do with privacy, and in some ways, I get it - collecting user IP addresses isn't super privacy-conscious, but at the same time... i literally saw a gif of a man shooting himself, as well as real gore and stuff I really just... did not want to see - and it kept coming back again and again. 

I ended up leaving the site entirely a little while before the OSA came into force, when I made a lil goodbye post because despite everything I really did want the site to have been better than that. Eventually a friend told me about Friend Rewind and well, here I am XD

Now I've not been here long, but I'm hoping for a better experience this time around. I've already made a lot of friends here and it does seem like the moderation is more alert, so those are both very good signs in my opinion.
