when ur in a #1 thrift fan competition and ur opponent is me

i am MAJORLY into thrifting...like i do not shop for clothes at actual branded stores, pretty much 90% of my closet is sourced secondhand. i believe most clothes produced today are cheaply made and have a huge price tag on them. i owned a hollister cami once...it was SO expensive, the threads started coming apart after one wash, and it was poorly tailored. i think it's a good thing that brands market their clothing towards a wider range of body types, but my hollister cami was an xs and wasn't tight on me at all. i am tall and pretty athleticaly built, so realistically, i should not be an xs...i can't imagine what that tailoring would've looked like on a short/petite person X_X

another thing with sourcing things secondhand is getting authenic clothing. i feel like sometimes ppl who try to dress "y2k" or whatever will slap on a revival juicy tracksuit and call it a day. i thrifted an aeropostale polo from 2009 (another cool thing abt older clothes...sometimes they have what month/year they r from so u can date them!!!) and i feel like a full fledged millennial in that. i wear it all the time with my vans + mudd jeans + clandestine industries bartskull necklace and i feel so awesome. i just feel such a connection to my clothing that i don't think i would feel otherwise if i got it from the mall or smth.

thrifting is just so awesome!!! if ur into sewing u can treat it like the fabric store, if u want CDs it's the music store, u want furniture? BAM! FURNITURE! where i live there's a ton of thrift stores that r owned by churchs or organizations like the animal shelter, so when u buy from them, ur money supports them instead of some random billionaire!!! so awesome.
