Which is better

I'm going to start college sometime this year and before that my parents said I can buy a new tablet or laptop. I'm struggling on deciding which one would be better for college and would like some advice. My current laptop is fine, it works well but its nothing too special. I honestly haven't used it much, so maybe i havent noticed any issues yet. However my tablet is a hand me down from my family, it also works well, but the screen is cracked and its honestly a little slow. I used it a lot more than my laptop for studying before, I find it to be easier to take notes on, i can draw and write my own notes a lot easier too. Which one would be more useful for college? I'd really like some advice🙏🙏🙏
