hello friendrewind!
you probably know my reason for being here from my old blog posts. I was looking for a more niche, genuine, and quiet space, and this place fit that search perfectly. stepping away from the crowded and superficial vibe of mainstream social media to find a spot where we can just write and express ourselves feels truly great.
what about you? what brings you here, and how did you first hear about this place? share your stories in the comments, let us get to know each other.

I was a former SpaceHey user, but I left in 2024 due to the... let's just say issues that site has. I stepped away from MySpace clones for a bit since FriendProject unfortunately was the only other option at the time and not much better.
I had a gum graft surgery a couple weeks ago and was really bored while recovering, but I randomly remembered how much I loved coding my old profile and got the urge to do it again. That is when I came across this website! I have definitely enjoyed my time here so much so far! It reminds me of the early days of SpaceHey before all went to shit.
And the reason I even was drawn to SpaceHey back in 2021 at all was because I was looking for an alternative to mainstream social media where no one knew who I was. I also was just a little too young when MySpace was a thing, so I thought that it would be fun to experience it, even if it wasn't the real thing. Around the time I opened my SpaceHey account, I left a year-long relationship after finding out that my then boyfriend cheated on me, so it was nice to just vent out my feelings to people who did not know me. Those sad posts actually resulted in me briefly dating someone on there for about a month. We stayed friends for a of couple years, but I lost contact with the person over time.
I look forward to creating some more memories on here and meet many nostalgia lovers along the way! I sometimes feel a little crazy since barely anyone in my irl life tries to incorporate elements of the past in their daily lives. But coming on here definitely helps me feel less alone! :)

I've been living my life pretty '1980s' for the past couple of years. I slowly deleted my mainstream social media and came to things like FriendRewind. Out of all the MySpace remakes, this one is my favourite and the one I've stuck with. I wanted to get away from the disappointment I felt when I spent too much time online. I wasn't happy and social media had nothing interesting to offer me anymore. I never saw my friends' posts, only ever what was recommended by an algorithm.Β I have a Nokia and only use my smart phone for banking, really.Β I've been living my life offline since 2024 and I am so much happier.
