Hi everyone! Bora here. Today I wanted to talk about something that I've been holding in my heart for a little while now: why I stopped playing minesweeper.
First of all, you have to understand that at one point of my life, I was deeply obsessed with this game. I genuinely played for hours everyday, constantly tried to get faster, beat my own best time, hell, I even played the game in my mind whenever I closed my eyes. I didn't play very consistently, but throughout the years, I still came back and had my mine sweeper phases.
Anyway. I eventually became pretty decent at the game, my friends and family said I was great, that I was fast and that they didn't understand how I could play this game (they're a little stupid, that's fine), so I was very happy with myself. That's when I did something I never should have done. Looked up tips on the internet.
I thought looking up pro tips would make me improve and get even better, at this point I was even thinking of having a career in minesweeping (maybe not, but idk at least a record...), it's safe to say I was being delusional.
I clicked on the first website I saw, and I kid you not, the way the tips were written reminded me of those pro 4n@ blogs. I was deeply offended for some reason and idk, it kinda irked me. That and looking at the world records, people playing this game are genuinely inhumane. Anyway it really demotivated me now I don't play anymore sadly :(
Moral of the story, don't look up tips to get better at minesweeper unless you like being talked to like a dog.
Sincerely, Bora.
