Why the Universe is Evil

The most common argument against an inherently virtuous universe - the clearly unnecessary suffering in this mundane world, relies on fundamental assumptions among which is utilitarianism (pain bad, pleasure good). However, there are cases where the result of pain may lead to a better outcome, as Hegel argues in the Phenomenology of Spirit - a slaughterbench of history eventually resulting in an earthly utopia. Besides evolution being undirected, some Abrahamist apologists claim that the suffering in the Universe is justified by evolution resulting in a greater outcome.

However, I can demonstrate a better proof for the intrinsic evil of the Universe - and that is entropy.

Whenever any virtue is performed, and this is true regardless of the "definition" of good used - the "physical" world is transformed according to cognitive ideals. That is, a form of order is being imposed on reality to align it with virtue. When we establish civilization, systems of administering justice/desert, etc, this is precisely what is done.

Entropy, however, eliminates any possibility of a permanent value imposition being made on the world. Anything we do will inevitably dissolve into a heat death of quantum undifferentiation. If the universe were good, it would allow for the possibility of value judgements forever, or at least the possibility that our value judgements will have an eternal lasting impact. Yet this is the opposite of what we observe - the whole upwards climb of evolution will terminate in the decay and dissolution of subatomic particles. It destroys the fruit of all moral actions, thus it is evil.

Forgive me if I misunderstood at all BUT

You may be conflating impermanence with immorality. Personally I don't see why a just, good universe would allow for impacts lasting forever.

To ascribe anything of the natural order with an inherit morality, to me at least, is wrong. The universe itself has no capacity for good or evil and same with the consequences of physical laws.
