wishing 2000s aesthetic enjoyers actually liked 2000s aesthetics

so everyone knows that many different 2000s aesthetics and design are super trendy now, which isn't a bad thing at all. i've been into it since 2021 and it's nice to see things shift to become slightly less bland now. my one major nitpick is that so many people who want to like these aesthetics get like 90% of their info and images from pinterest and tiktok.

pinterest is not THAT bad of a site, there are some really neat images there! but i feel like there's a big opportunity being missed to get this shit straight from the source (and discover more experimental/unique versions of the aesthetics we have so tightly fit into boxes)

point is, pinterest is limiting you to the type of 2000s aesthetics that are popular now. you should poke around DA a little and find something new!

unfortunately though, with deviantart it's not possible to find what you want by searching these new terms "frutiger metro" or "frutiger aero". you could find things that way, but they will likely be very new posts.

my recommendation is to just ditch the search entirely and start with one old deviation. take a look through the author's account and their favorites, they gotta have a lot of good stuff lying around. if you scroll to the bottom of a deviation, there will be a "more like this" section which works surprisingly well. if you want a good place to start there's always my collection linked above...

and it's not only just graphic design deviantart has to offer. you can find any type of old artwork or fanart on there, you can poke around my other collections too if ya want.
