i really wonder how these types of people see stuff like this and wanna join . some things in this world are so insane its hard to believe that people rlly follow this types of stuff and try getting others to join . what do u truly get out of dressing as a ugly ass corny ass cartoon character and "dating" them ??? there are real people to date and admire u don't have to live this way , like at all
and wdym ur a non sharing fictikon .. wtf does that even mean and how does that work ?? why do u want to live this way ?? why r u editing ur pictures to have a cartoon kissing u ????? what's the mindset behind this cs ts is on the same wavelength as some furry bs but a million times worse

From what I've heard it's different factors. Some people struggle forming relationships or social interactions in real life or maybe have low self-confidence so they resort to dating a fictional character in their mind.
Others might have those social skills but keep getting rejected or live somewhere where the gender they are attracted to is too likely to decline them.
Or maybe some people just prefer the idealised standards they see in media.
As for the sharing and nonsharing part, the way that works is that some people are okay seeing other people yumeship with the same character as them while others find it unpleasant to see so they they don't interact and/or block the people that do.
Also I'm not a yumeshipper, this is just my understanding I have from roaming the wild seas of the net.

Dude I mean if they aren’t hurting anyone or themself I really don’t see the issue yes it’s also weird to me but from my understanding it’s a fictional character that they love or/and find comfort in that specific character and for some that character helped them in a rough or traumatic situation which made them non-sharing and I also heard that yume shippers can be in real life relationships but I’m not sure if it’s true or not I guess I’m not educated and I would love to learn about them but not hating if it doesn’t do harm
