It is no secret that we are in algorithmic excess and that this endless funnel of content can take you anywhere it wants; soo I wondered where you guys get dropped off to when it thinks you're asleep ! I used to end up in some dude's fallout 1 live, this "chill" christmassy 24/7 music thing with an AI dog and some V-tuber ASMR stuff.Nowadays it's the anb channel and TADC cast playing some games. All of which is not of interest So yeah what about you guys ? Any overlapping patterns?

it used to always be a radio livestream channel (with the ai backgrounds, usually of white noise or lofi music). THEN it used to ALWAYS be some random guys livestream. now its a 80% chance of markiplier's old live streams? i dont know why him specifically, but he has a nice voice so its fine. the other 20 percent is that my laptop dies and i get nothing

@Lulu's Mauling the markiplier switch was random because it wasnt like i was randomly watching him more often. i cant tell if it randomly guesses if someone fell asleep and puts on something long, because one time i let auto run go on and it put me on a fairly popular movie after just 2 or 3 videos playing on its own, and i remember waking up to a random movie a few times actually. with mark, its always his older livestreams too (which im sure people planned to watch, i think he used to often had comments leading up to it so ppl would know, idk). but ill take that over the ai bs any day

@seukaramusyu yeaah sometimes I catch it switching to stuff it plays while im asleep when watching Kubzscouts (who I pretty much always fall asleep too) after like 3 vids at a certain time of day, ITS SO INTRESTING ! and yes thank god the AI bullshit is out of our feeds </3
There's a timeline because this changed.
- The Markiplier UCN livestream era, specifically Markiplier UCN streams
- The history channel era
- The 24/7 AI generated music era
- The "reading my mind and using music to perfectly score my dreams" 24/7 stream music era
Now I just wake up to gaming streams that have 1 viewer (likely me) or VODS with 14 views.

I'm not someone who uses autoplay features since I much prefer my phone/TV to be shut off after I fall asleep, but I tend to put on mundane things i'm interested in so its not too boring but also not too captivating either. Fnaf or star wars lore videos, stuff I know a lot about already but just enjoy the general discussion enough to sleep to at least.
though I swear youtube autoplay turns on by itself sometimes (must be an algo psyop) and i can never remember what it wakes me up to. but its always been super random things, like The Simpsons retrospectives lol

@Lulu's Mauling I was such a huge Scott the woz fan my freshman year. I even got his archival book during one of the charity merch events and it's the only piece of youtuber merch I own. I also wanted the monopoly board but scalpers got to them sadly.

I always end up waking up or looking over to my laptop after it’s been on for a while and it’s always FUCKING MARKPLIER- I love mark but I just personally am not a fan of his videos 😭😭

i've turned off autoplay nowdays but back in the pandemic if i slept with any video on my TV it would always end up in a glitchless mario 64 speedrun, i never liked/watched anything related to mario back then
