Persona 4 Revival.

i used to be super into persona and megaten as a teenager lol. great games with great soundtracks.

Persona 4 and Persona 4 Golden were absolutely fantastic games. The fact that Revival exists is stupid to me because Golden is both accessible and still very modern with how fun and playable it is. But oh well, I will still use it as an excuse to see my favorite goobers again. Although I do not want to support Atlus making dumbass unnecessary remakes so I will most definitely ACQUIRE IT BY LEGAL MEANS

this forum perfect for me.. half my life is centered around persona 4.. favorite character of all time is mitsuo kubo.. (;゙°´ω°´) my chrome search bar is persona 4 theme, i have many persona 4 things
here is photo of mitsuo handstanding on a skateboard with his 3d model

persona 4 remake coming 2027 , am excited to see new mitsuo
Kubo being your favorite character is interesting, I usually don't see people talk about him at all, or if so, then definitely not in a positive manner...

ah , yah, he is very hated character , but think that just makes me like him as much as i do. despite having such a small (but important to story) role with not much detailed depth to him , his strange appearance and interest for retro-style video games got me to like him whole bunch. being a shut in weird looking video game player is a little relatable. he also looks like a fish which is kind of .. very funny. (´• ω •`) his dungeon was very frustrating.. i played p4 golden for a few hours just to get to kubos section of game .. and it took . way too long. so then proceeded to not finish the game after i got done with the dungeon (still havent) hoping in revival he looks as weird as he does in the original , isn’t mitsuo if doesnt look offputting ヽ(・∀・)ノ
lol, It's funny that you mention having trouble with him, I also remember he was the only boss in Golden that was super difficult for me, I specifically remember that being the only time in the game I had to grind.
and yeah, I love all the theming and symbolism around him, I also found him to be more relatable than anything (which is why I'm always kind of sad when people just boil him down to "pathetic creepy stalker", I notice people tend to do that with characters like him all the time, and that always kind of annoys me, since the point of characters like him is "they withdraw from society because they're treated poorly, and you have the power to fix that by reaching out and being their friend"...or at least, that's what I got from it. On that note, it's no wonder why I like Adachi so much.)

ah, very heavy agree on all of this. kubo is such a cute and relatable character to me, glad you agree with relatability. usually people question the reason i like him, but with revival i think maybe more people will acknowledge his existence / like him . i hope!! need more kubo fans in the world! ヽ(´□`。)ノ

persona 4 mitsuo edition, image made by me from year ago (ignore that i forgot to kubofy teddy)

I've been playing the PS2 version of P4 on and off recently, and I'm beginning to have a newfound respect for it.
I don't feel as strongly about 4 as I do 3, Q, or 1, but I still really like it and especially some of the characters like Kanji and Nanako, and Inaba might be my favorite setting (maybe tied with or slightly above or below Tatsumi Port Island depending on the day), I notice I tend to prefer smaller-scale settings and stories, and Inaba reminds me of where I'd spend my summers as a kid.
I feel like the recent remakes are incredibly pointless, I really don't like how either of them look, visually, and I think resources would be better spent making new games, but P6 is a thing that officially exists now, and the translation (what we've seen of it so far, anyway) being closer to the Japanese script is always a good thing, so I don't have it in me to be angry at it for existing like I did with P3R.

I've been pretty into Megaten since my late teenage years. Starting with Persona 4 Golden on Vita, before playing the original Persona 5 on PS4, eventually, finding out Persona was a spin off of Megami Tensei and getting really into SMT3, 4 and other mainline and spin-off entries (Digital Devil Saga 2, my beloved.) Recently, been going through Metaphor Re:Fantazio which I feel has been one of the better Persona-like (?) games in recent memory. Like I had fun with Persona 3 Reload, but it felt very unnecessary (although, a lot of that is because Persona 3 already had like FES and Portable lmao, and not being a fan of the story in P3, I felt like P3R can only get so good as the gameplay will allow it.)
I haven't played 5 Tactica since it looked kinda boring, and I thought 5 Strikers was fine but the story and writing were exceptionally poor I felt. Soul Hackers 2 really, REALLY sucked as the original is one of my favourite megaten games. Weirdly, despite not caring for stories in my games, I feel like the story and writing in recent Atlus games kind of lets down the experience of their games. It's like that and the poor quality of dungeons in recent entries, I don't think Atlus has put out a megaten game with good dungeon designs since Persona 5 Royal which is immensely disappointing.
On topic of P4R, I don't like that it's happening. P3R I kinda get since there's no "definitive" version of the game and the gameplay of Persona has been fine-tuned since P3FES. But I genuinely don't get what P4R could do that requires this whole-new remake. Like P4G still plays pretty closely to like P5, P5R and P3R, like the gameplay hasn't changed much since then, and it's not like it lacks much in the way of QoL stuff, P4G still plays like a pretty modern game all things considered. I also don't like how they're changing some of the character stuff, like these characters are teenagers in the late 2000s in a rural town, I don't expect them to be the most squeaky clean guys out there lmao
