Hiii I just recently learned how to sew! Like…last week. Is there anyone here who’s more of an expert? And would you pleaseee gimme tips and tricks and maybe things I should probably buy?

I wish my granny was still around (rip gran gran 😞) to help. But I *sigh* GUESSSS yall will do/j

Heheh thank youuu!!

hmm did you learn to hand sew or use the machine? machine-sewing is a little easier imo and i would recommend getting extra bobbins/thread for it! also buying denim and universal needles 4 ur machine is great. for sewing by hand, make sure you know how to do different types of stiches (like stiches for garments vs ones for embroidery). lots of different sized needles and standard black/white cotton thread is good too! a thimble is helpful but i personally dont like it. a seam ripper, safety pins, regular pins, and sewing scissors are very helpful as well. if ur doing garment work, i also recomment a soft measuring tape for precision :3

i mostly do embroidery and some machine work but i hope this helps!! xx

I have grown up sewing, it is what helped me find my true style and it helps me now adjust the clothes I buy to fit me correctly. I recommend buying the Brother CS7000X, that is one that I have used for a while. If you are a beginner, I also recommend buying the novel The Sewing Book by Alison Smith. She offers a lot of visuals for sewing as well. And know that it is alright to make mistakes because you could always seam rip it. :)

@bonnie first off, my stuffed bunny daughter is name Bonnie so I read this as her giving me help 😭😭 and second off: I HAVE A BROTHER SEWING MACHINE HOW YOU KNOW :D I have a Disney brother se 2700 (I think that’s the numbers) and I got it from my great grandma! I’ve been working with it more since I made this post and I actually just finished the base for a skirt I’m making! I just have to add details.
