Opinions on the possible new Fallout game in the works by Obsidian and Xbox?

Yes, I know every few months or so there's always at someone saying things along the lines of there being a new fallout game or a remaster, but its being spoken about again 'for real' and I'm curious about other peoples opinions :D

This time it's said that this new game would be done by Obsidian for Xbox which already set of a few small alarms in my head, with the recent Xbox layoffs and such(and their generally bad decisions in the past). Also the fact that the people that worked on New Vegas aren't with Obsidian anymore means the chance of it being the same quality story wise has been heavily dampened. 

On top of that is the recent decline in how often actually good games seem to be popping up nowadays just in general. These companies and studios can promise whatever they want with their trailers and interviews but I feel we all know that does not mean the final product is actually any good. Which I sadly feel might probably be the case this time if the game does come out.

So I personally am not really that excited for this apparent development, since I unfortunately do not have very much faith in this game to be that good, or at least nowhere near as good as the pervious games from well over a decade ago. I feel (at least currently, I would love to be proven wrong though) that this game would be 'decent' at best. 

I would love, LOVE, for this possible new game to be an amazing successor to the pervious games. I just honestly wish the that it wasn't being done under Xbox. Really we just have to pray that the suits in charge don't cut corners, set stupid deadlines, make idiotic changes/demands, etc, like many have in the past which heavily affected the qualities of many great games. 

(Might have repeated stuff a few times, sorry! I'm just rambling)

Jingle Jangle Jingle or whatever.

I mean, its over. Fallout as a genuine series grappling uncomfortable and interesting topics of human nature is dead. Its washed, its sanitized, its battle passed, its in game purchases, its "normal" now. Bethesda had their chance, they blew it. The show isn't my thing, 76 isn't my thing, they aren't what i personally want fallout to be. I don't think ill have a genuine love for most fallout media that comes out from now on like when i was growing up when i just loved ANYTHING fallout. But it happens times change and folk see ways to make money, even at the cost of their awesome thing, it just so happens right now that thing is fallout. That being said id probably still get it lmao. Also don't forget cost cutting and deadlines are part of what helped make new Vegas so good.

It is also funny that for them to continue with their fanfare and money making operations, Todd Howard finally has to bend to the New Vegas supremacy. 

I'm feeling cautious about it in the same way I feel about The Elder Scrolls VI. These are franchises many of us have fond memories of, and recent releases have been nothing short of disappointing (ESO and 76 come to mind, but also I hate mmos and mmo-adjacent games generally), with so much hype generated and very little actual satisfaction. I think it'll be hard to meet our expectations as the actual players of these games no matter what tbh. Plus the whole sanitization of media thing, especially combined with Fallout is just. Not great. ( ´-｀)
