do yall like goosebumps?

so i found my very small old collection of goosebumps books and read "say cheese and die" and then i watched the episode for it on the show and OMG THE BOOK IS SO MUCH BETTER 5 SECONDS IN THEIR DOING SOMETHINGS THAT HAPPENS HALFWAY THROUGH THE BOOK idk do yall like goosebumps and if so do you prefer the show or the books?

I remember I used to like them alot when I was in middle school but if I'm being honest I haven't read them in awhile

I used to love the shows as a kid, I remember always trying to check out the book in my elementary library but it was ALWAYS checked out 😭 so I always wanted to read the books but I always just had to run to the tv for the show lol. 

i read them all the way up to my junior year of high school... because rl stine was really good at writing transformation sequences and i couldn't find anything for high schoolers that had transformation in it. he was also funny as hell, lots of great dark/absurd humor in those books. the ending of the blob that ate everything made me ugly snort because it was so damn silly.

i was also a big fan of bruce coville who also wrote middle grade horror. i've thought about going to my library and rereading some middle school favorites. the lawn weenies series was even beyond that--i've sent "the billion legger" short story to a number of adults, all of who were like "WHY WOULD YOU MAKE ME READ THAT" even though the cover claims it's for ten year olds. don't read weenies stories at night.

hands down the one that left the biggest impression on me was a book called under the cat's eye. it's like 50 genres crammed into a chapter book. i reread it as an adult a while back and i still can't find anything else like it. 

Yeah, the show was alright. I preferred "Are you Afraid of The Dark?", though.

I freakin' loved Goosebumps books when I was in elementary and junior high. I would always try to buy one whenever I went to Borders bookstore.

The show was pretty good too. I have watched a few episodes and I liked the spooky ambience.

I was a big fan of Goosebumps as a kid, both the show and the books. I used to get a bunch of the books from the library and marathon them in one sitting. The show was a lot of fun too, I genuinely think I watched almost every single episode! It's definitely what got me into horror. After I got a bit older I found out about The Haunting Hour, another children's show based on R.L. Stine's books that was kind of a spiritual successor. The target audience must have been a bit older than Goosebumps, though, because some of the ending were way darker. Sometimes I still rewatch those shows for fun ^^

I also loved the recent goosebumps tv series (2023) 

The first season was so good and it sucked there were only two seasons
