why humans having animal features wouldnt be all that great

Back to General Discussion

a lot of people ask why people cant have cool animal features, but they forget about how humans already discriminate based on what features we already have. most likely, we'd just invent new ways to discriminate or ostracize others based on their features, so i wanted to list some of my theorized outcomes to this:

- entrances that prevent people with wings/antlers from entering

- declawing, if that wasnt already a thing.

- religious people (more specifically of abrahambic beliefs) discriminating against people with horns.

- exoskeleton vs endoskeleton drama

- this one is maybe not nearly as bad but yk how there's people who will only date a specific demographic because they have a fetish for it.... yeah. that, not to mention the reverse of that where people assume the person youre dating happening to have some feature means you're automatically fetishizing them

- anyone who isnt born with cool animal features is either gonna get bullied or gonna form a cult where they justify attacking everyone else

- yall forgot spurs, spikes, barbs, stingers, and more were a thing. anyone who has them is gonna get treated like theyre inherently aggressive people.

- people with more sensitive sets of ears will make clubs designed for them. people who have less sensitive ears will complain, infiltrate, and gentrify those clubs.

- fashion brands refusing to hire modles with traits that are less than palatable. refer to spurs/spikes for an example.

- people with certain features will ask for them to be accommodated. people who do not have those features will say it's "not a problem that needs fixing." those people will find a way to accommodate themselves only to STILL get hate for "being too lazy."

feel free to add more!!

where've you heard that? i think ive only ever seen people who think tails would be cool

@pennstationofficial every now and then i see people thinking it'd be cool if humans had more animal features (tails being a popular one, yeah) and i wanted to give an alternative take on it :)

@RayFromTheNet oh i see. yeah a wide variety of features like that would definitely cause some problems. considering most animals with barbs are solitary, and humans being social animals, people would definitely get stabbed on accident. and then they would probably get stereotyped more. its an interesting thought experiment

i have a character that comes from a modern-day world where everyone is like animal people (there are still regular non-sapient animals)  and a big debate where he's from is whether furless animal people should be required to wear clothes or not, since clothes arent a necessity    as well as the whole marketing of the regular animals in ways demeaning to those who resemble them

also then the whole societal issues of mix-race people   (my character happens to be a cat bird so hes got some general issues with that too yeah)
