What's your favorite obscure band/artist?

Back to Music

Any genre, any subgenre, any microgenre. I'm very curious what your favorite small/obscure band/artist is.

"Why do hot dogs come in packages of 10, while hot dog buns come in packages of 8?"

my favorite obscure band is definitely brocas helm. defender of the crown is my favorite album of theirs because it led me to listening to the rest of their discographyCover art for Defender of the Crown by Brocas Helm

i've really liked this band I found called dasha, some 2009 female-led emo hell yea

listen to this:

@tedforpres2020 Hell yeah! I'm not a huge emo guy but I know a guy who LOVES emo music so I gotta share this with him.

Cojum Dip!!! there's loads more but they're my favorite :P

Monotrona...I've not long ago discovered about her music, it's really strange, but I love them for that
She samples a bunch of chiptune music from vidya in her music
Her album covers look really dope too, she'd even dress up as the characters on the covers whenever she'd do concerts

Prometheus was punished by the gods for giving the gift of knowledge to man. He was cast into the bowels of the earth and pecked by birds.

aerial love feed!!! they only have one ep and one album but its some of the coolest stuff i've ever heard. it's like shoegaze but not quite, its got some bowery electric type beats sometimes, and it sounds like you're in a big empty bright landscape with just random white structures making this wide, buzzing and booming sound, and one disembodied voice blending in with it

the most obscure musician i have may be archipielagos (argentinian math rock) and splendora, which splendora did the daria's intro but i'm sad they're obscure :/

guy who really likes the strokes

My favorite will always be Alone in My Room, I feel it has a really dark atmosphere, like being in a 70s or '80s cemetery.

For me, the best albums are "Chloroform" and "Flesh Tomb (Pt. 1)"

CometDear Laikaotay: oniiurika's bedroom, and embalmingEva are all artists I'll gladly recommend as niche artists who deserve a spotlight!

Honorable Mention: Nicole Dollanganger but specifically her album Married in Mount Airy. Truly has influenced me as a person.

I love schoolgirl upon thy corpse, cum book and the impaling rites of count dickula by pornthegore but a less obscure artist i like is dehumanizing itatrain worship!!
