DC comic fans? I need help

Back to General Discussion

so ive been trying to get into the comics and I found some lists but I'd love to know if there's anything else I should add (mostly jason todd bc i like him)

also know where I should start with Nightwing? I wasn't able to find any lists for him. also wanted to read up on Cassandra Cain, I know everyone recommends Batgirl (2000). but if youve got any for any other dc characters feel free to suggest them!

You should read Batman Dark Patterns, focuses more on the detective aspect of Batman and the decay of Gotham, I really like the villains in it especially the first one. I'm all caught up on Absolute Batman right now and it's pretty fire aside from fuck ass Jonkler but he's not here too much so yay. Need to read some more

@Lulu's Mauling haven't read any of the ones on screen yet lol but I heard great things about Year One and Knightfall

@Lulu's Mauling its 1 am rn and the word "jonkler" is making me giggle sm rn but I'll add that to the list!

@xXsalival_magdelenaXx bro his design is ASS CHEEKS NO CLAPS and his characterization ew ew ew, I CAN SEE THEY TRIED SMT NEW LIKE MOST THINGS IN IT AND THEY JUST MISSED SO HARD WITH HIM HE'S JUST.. hollow!

@Lulu's Mauling BUT ILL SAY, I loooooove Bane in it he is fucking chefs kiss and the origin of the main villains r freaking sweet, scarecrow's pretty sick too even though we havent seen much of him yet ;p

@Lulu's Mauling ive seen bits and pieces of absolute batman and I think its interesting but doesn't really appeal to me. the art style is eh to me and some of the story choices ive seen are just bizarre

like why are the robins in a giant gundam. wtf. I like catwoman and cassandra cains design tho

@xXsalival_magdelenaXx I think it shows a hyper militarized facet of them and how fucked up it is to train kids of trauma into human weapons but I might just be looking too deep into it, all things flow well in the story but I see how out of context it might seem odd, not for everyone I guess but I'll always enjoy risks over the formulaic routine the last couple of years have been looking with fear of ever developing those characters out of their mold.

@Lulu's Mauling and Idk i think the robin's being weaponized against batman is like kinda cool!

ooh I've been wanting to read the Batman comics for a while, but didn't know where to start. I've been too overwhelmed by the amount of comics so I've never read any of them, but I would really like to get into them

@𖤐⭒๋࣭ ⭑𝔣𝔞𝔦𝔱𝔥* ੈ✩‧₊˚*  I actually ended up finding a really comprehensive google doc with several reading lists. I can send u the link if you'd like!

@xXsalival_magdelenaXx yes, thank you!!!

here you go! the bruce wayne list doesn't list it, but batman: year one is the best place to start. its only 4 short issues that basically gives the basic backstory

also if u have to read comics online like I do, then I recommend zipcomic! there are better sites but this one seems to have everything

@xXsalival_magdelenaXx tysm!! I love Batman and have been wanting to read about him for a while hehe

@xXsalival_magdelenaXx batcave .biz is great too!!
