favorite The Sims game??

ts3 comes close, but the sims castaway (ps2) is my all time favorite despite how short the story is lol it was still so replayable for me and im currently trying to hunt down a copy to replay ittt

Definitely The Sims 3 for me too. I honestly think it’s the one that captured the feeling of actually living in a world the best.

What makes it so special is how alive everything feels. The open world was such a huge thing, being able to leave your house, visit your neighbors, go to the park, explore the town without loading screens… it made the whole neighborhood feel like an actual place instead of just a collection of lots.

I also love how much personality the Sims had in that game. The traits system felt way more meaningful because your Sims’ personalities actually affected how they behaved. A grumpy, artistic, neurotic Sim would genuinely feel different from a brave, charismatic one. It made every family feel unique instead of just being copies with different outfits.

And honestly, the little details are what make it my favorite. The memories, the random events, the open-ended gameplay, the way your Sim could have a completely unexpected life story… sometimes you would start playing with one plan and suddenly your Sim had three careers, a weird relationship drama, and a neighbor they somehow hated for no reason 

I think The Sims 4 has some great things too, but The Sims 3 had a certain charm that is hard to recreate. It felt messy, unpredictable, and alive. It wasn’t just a house simulator — it felt like you were creating an entire little universe.

Also the soundtrack and the overall aesthetic are just so nostalgic. There’s something about loading into Sunset Valley that feels like coming home. 

The Sims 3 definitely had its flaws (the lag was fighting for its life), but personally I think it was the game that understood the magic of The Sims the most. It gave you freedom and let stories happen naturally, and that’s what made it unforgettable.

sims 2 & the urbz... sims 2 is the only ensouled game of the franchise imo LOLLL. the urbz i love for nostalgic reasons.. grew up fond of it only having seen it like once in a yt video when i was 7. managed to emulate it on my computer to little.. success in terms of how easy it was to play. love it.. fond of it.. 

Sims 3 for pc and Sims 2 and Sims 2 pets for ps2 ! :D I loved how in Sims 2 there was two player option so I could play with my sister. It was peak. 

Gotta go with Sims 2. Had all the expansions and modded the hell out of it lol

sims 2 also. i personally love the style of it and just the humor and the way you could easily make your own worlds and i honestly love the kind of cc the community of that game made it had so much emo and alternative stuff which is kind of harder to kind in the newer games.

I would say the Sims 1. It certainly hasn't aged the best, but it just, hits differently. It was also the first one I played so there's a lot of nostalgia bias too.

My love for The Sims started with "The Sims Bustin' out" on the PS2. Played the hell out of it with my sister as it had split screen multiplayer!! But from there I progressed to The Sims 2 on the ds, then The Sims 3 on PS3 and then The Sims 3 on PC! I have since played 2 on pc and of course I have many hours in 4 but I think 3 will forever hold a special place in my heart for how much you can truly do in there.

I am obsessed with sims 4 I have over 3000 hours on it! But I also used to like sims 3 on the ds!

The 3rd one. The 2nd one is also really good, but in my opinion 3rd had something special idk

i LOOOOVEEEE the sims 3. the open world and story progression have me in a chokehold. i love reading the newspaper every morning and catching up on all the tiny townie gossip. who got married? who died? who got a new baby? i need to know.

nraas mods make the whole experience even better. i've mostly grown up with the sims 2 and played 4 too, but the 3rd will always be my #1. my laggy, chaotic, beautiful game ♡

Sims 2 definitely! I only just finally got it a couple years ago, but it's really fun! Sims 3 is a really close second! ✨

I like the build-mode the best on Sims 4, I think it's the most fun to make buildings on there, but I find the actual gameplay so boring compared to the other games...

(If I could have a Sims game with the gameplay of Sims 2, open world of Sims 3, and customization/build-mode of Sims 4, then that would be the perfect Sims game for me. lol)

i only ever playes ts3 and 4, and watched my siblings play 2, so perhaps im biased but i choose 3. mostly for the pets add-on, which my siblings always got annoyed w/ in 2. plus i js have way more memories with 3 than 2 and 4. and 1 and most spin offs (except for online, freeplay, and mobile for ts3) is out of the question since i didnt even know they existed lmao.
