As much as I love the activity of the platform, I do have some issues with it, but that doesn't mean I don't love many aspects of it. So, let's get into it.
It's custody to begin positive, so I will start off with that.
I like the accessible music player in the profiles, though I don't use it (I will get into why soon), it adds lots of character to people's profiles. -- I will say that I was stuck for 20 minutes trying to figure out why a link wouldn't embed in my bio, but that might just be on my end.
The groups are a nice feature, I like how you get notified when a new message is sent in the home tab, however I wish it was alike to when your friend comes online.
I think the search between age feature is lovely! I hate being friends with those younger than me, so I appreciate it's implementation.
Okay, I'm done with the positives. Obviously, there is more, however, I feel like it is redundant, as I am here to shed light on what I think.
The Search
It isn't the worst. However, I'd like to be able to search more indepth-ly, like between certain dates, and from users in specific areas.
Age
I don't like certain age groups interacting with me, and I wish there was an option to block all friend requests from those under/above a certain age. It's quite annoying to have to look through every profile seeing if they fit my criteria that I set.
Coding
The save button and the CSS part of our code are worlds apart, and it's a pain to get to. I'd like it for the save button for CSS to be beside the code, just to save time.
UI
The UI for the old 2000's theme is HORRIDLY inconsistent, for a site that prides itself for finished features, the UI is SO ..bad. In groups, its buggy, the music player is jarring, and half of the menus are just not working. I hope for an improvement soon.
Music Player
It took me ~20 minutes to realize I had to go to the music tab. Sure, call me dumb for that, however, the line;
Simply paste media links directly in your bio and they'll automatically convert to embedded players!
felt odd. I feel like it should be a bit more clear on how to get there.
sidenote, the music player looks ugly to me, and I wish you could easily customize it -- aka, the CSS tags SAID to us, like how in blogs its very clear.
I'm sorry if this sounds rude, I just want my thoughts put out there. I might update this, I dunno. Long live the 2000s!
