Yellowjackets

Back to Movies & TV

My personal favorite tv show is Yellowjackets! Every character has depth and complexity. Each episode is well written and the cast is extremely talented. What I love most about the show is that each character is symbolic. For example;

Jackie: Symbolizes the bridge between social norms and the inevitable collapse of sanity. Her death was the start of the girls abandoning morality and relying on Lottie’s psychosis for survival.

Shauna: Symbolizes grief and the insanity. While Jackie is the collapse of sanity, Shauna IS the insanity. Her world is orbited by grief and regret. But season three is so consumed by Jackie’s death and the passing of her baby that she can no longer pretend to be “normal” she embraces the wilderness and becomes the antler queen.

These are just two examples of themes represented through characters. I also like is the teenagers are realistic. In some tv shows like Euphoria (which I refuse to watch) the characters lines are unrealistic and don’t portray an actual teenager, however in Yellowjackets I believe the portrayal is accurate.

These are my thoughts, you are welcome to give me your opinions about the show, I need people who love Jackie as much as me lol
