Good morning/afternoon/evening, my name is Sarah but my online friends also call me Mascara, Snail, or (a new but dearly beloved nickname) Snarah. I'm twenty (20) years old and I live in the Southeastern United States (CST time zone). I've been a SpaceHey user for six months, so I'm not completely new to using MySpace-inspired retro social networks! I prefer using retro socials over mainstream/modern social media because: they're not overstimulating, they don't use AI or force users to use it, they provide more opportunity for actual socialization, and they're nostalgic! I was born in 2006, so I was only two years old when MySpace was at its peak and therefore wasn't old enough to experience the original platform.
I love the 2000s and being a kid who got to grow up during the late 2000s and early to late 2010s. I love the fashion, the technology, the aesthetics, etc. I grew up on YouTube and still use it to this day! I also grew up playing videogames, the first game I ever played being Plants vs. Zombies and the most recent being the Resident Evil HD Remaster (which I just beat for the first time as Jill Valentine). I like to think I have a pretty varied music taste since I listen to all sorts of genres and eras of music. However, I lean toward describing myself as someone who mostly listens to a lot of rock, nu metal, pop punk, and emotional hardcore music from the 90s-2000s.
I'll leave my introduction there for now, as I'll probably end up making a blog post introducing myself and my interests in more detail.
